The blue card always was the 5 of spades. He did a hindu shuffle (forcing the bottom card, which was the 8 of diamonds), did a double lift (picking 2 cards and showing them as 1) with the 8 of diamonds and the blue 5 of spades on top, put down the blue 5 of spades (which looks like he's putting down a blue 8 of diamonds), does another hindu shuffle (forcing the red 5 of spades on the bottom)...you know the rest. :)

you know what, the blue card is actually "5". but when he open the blue card for the first time is double card, 5 and 8, if you look closely he open it carefuly so people don't know if it's double. thumbs up if the magician is a dumb.
