@zombielust1969 It can be all of these things, man. Yes, on the face it's a beautiful and straight-forward movie, but it's also extremely deep and surreal and has strong artistic value. None of any of this is bad.

@debireis The reason for the film having the title " Brazil ", according to an article that I read that Terry Gilliam got the name from a chat he had with some old guy while walking along the beach at Swansea or Port Talbot on the South Wales used to be a site for heavy industry which turned the area into a complete shithole. He made some remark to this old guy, the reply that he got surprised him, the old guy said something along the lines that it was just being in Brazil.

@zombielust1969 not is a Terry Gilliam's vision of the future, is a George Orwell vision of the future adapt to a Terry Gilliam's Movie.

Nice but, how you can forget "METROPOLIS"; one of the best 10 films (not only sci-fi) of all times.
