You will see a revolution of high musical quality again. I feel certain of it. The challenge is to get media that can fit the streams in a smaller space. Everything you're hearing mostly is highly compressed. Artists will fill the open space when it arrives. Eat well, don't smoke, exercise, and you might see it.

I can tell you why mostly this music doesn't exist today. (and there is great music today). There was a huge push from the sixties to progress towards more complicated orchestrations everyone trying to up each other. Quality of reproduction at home was doing the same thing with higher and higher quality a/v equipment. MTV and the MP3 age stopped it all mostly. It still exists but it drifted from the mainstream yet again after the revolution of artists and electronics.
