@andypatnou No he didn't. Swingpath determines the start, clubface determines the end.

its beating a dead horse but those ball flight laws aren't quite right. Heck u can do this in ur own home. take a putter and hit a ball with a square club face but also an exaggerated in/out or out/in path. Guarantee you the ball will always start straight. The ball starts roughly in the direction of club face. Ball finishes with direction of swing plane in relation to club face.

@andypatnou yeaahh this was probably a long time ago and when he said this we all thought the face what responsible for the curve and the clubface determined where the ball started.

Wow. I can't watch that. I have a decetn gofl swing at seeing that messes with my head. I've actually played gofl with Jim a couple times. His folks used to live/play golf where I grew up. It looks even stranger in person. He's pretty damn good though. GL in the FedEx this year Jim.

Believe it or not his swing is most similar to what a lot of golf instructer teach on the back swing which is to to keep the hands inline with the head and not wind up to far behind. Doing a more vertical backswing improves your chances on hitting the ball as the angle comes straight down on the ball rather then side ways

i have his swing, with a natural draw. i completely agree about what hes sayin though.

@jumister5889 I agree with your statement of the 'newer' ballflight laws. However, your examples seem contradictory. The first one should start off slightly right then curve right. The second one should start out about 2* right then curve to the LEFT. I think the third example is correct. The 2nd and 3rd examples should have a similar result except different take off directions and more curve in the 3rd place...yet you say a completely different shot shape occurs. Am I wrong?.. |
