This video is really more about the analogy to help people understand how wifi works, rather than what a router is. I have a different video that talks more about the router itself (although ironically since I have an Airport router, which looks very different than most routers, I used a hub I had handy since it actually looked more like most routers do. And yes, I explained that in the other video)

You know, that's a good question. Honestly, I don't know for sure, but I imagine it has something to do with the different purpose of the two devices. The cable box has to process (and descramble in many cases) a video signal, which is a very different job than modulating & demodulating (mo-dem) a network signal.

Heh. Thanks, I think(?) :) Believe it or not, I actually had a dreadful monotone voice growing up, and actually studied and practiced to improve my speaking voice. Guess it worked. :)
