@6MemoryOfForever9 right? I don't think people realize the the Islamic empire was the biggest one in the history of the world, something like 9 times bigger than the Roman empire. And they did not do that by politely asking them to convert to a wonderful religion.

@ninjusto History isn't the point of the song, it is about how there once was a uniting reason to go to crusading because the Holy Land was conquered and the Christians were forced to go to war but in doing so "Jeruselam was lost" and they lost their "just" cause for war.

Whether you like Saladin or not, the song definitely has extreme historical fallacies, and most European/Christian scholars agree. Crusaders were crushed because they were not just and they used to rape and kill innocents. |
