It's amazing how straight ahead "avant garde" jazz continued well into the late 60's b4 Miles went electric and turned the whole psychedelic rock community on their heads.Jazz is and was the American music that defined our culture/s in such an integral way, even more so than the blues, which is of course the foundation of jazz. However, jazz is and was the evolutionary spiral that made so many things possible through its infinite levels of creative expression.
