la Menagerie Royale d'Animaux, Op. 92 Premiere - Part 1

This is the premiere performance of my suite for wind and harp sextet, la Menagerie Royale d'Animaux (the royal menagerie of animals), which as you might have guessed, is modeled after Saint Saens' Carnival of the Animals, on a composer/performer joint recital I shared with Liz Plummer (oboe) on 2/13/10 in Hart Recital Hall at the MSU college of music. The performance is given by the Sparta Winds (Liz's quintet) featuring Rachel Miller, harp; Brandon LePage, flute/piccolo/alto flute; Liz Plummer, oboe/oboe d'amore/English horn; Kevy Bailey, clarinet/bass clarinet; Ben Walukonis, horn; and Sheena Dhamsania, bassoon/contrabassoon. Brandon wrote the narration. For logistic reasons this performance included only 9 (of 14) movements, but the whole suite is scheduled to be performed in april 2010. In this video:1.
