The Basque people's right to decide their own destiny is the key to resolving the conflict, according to the pro-independence party Batasuna. Arnaldo Otegi is spokesman for the movement, which was made illegal in 2002. Since the violent Basque separatist group ETA declared a ceasefire, Spain's Socialist government has said it's ready to negotiate.Otegi spoke to EuroNews in his native Basque about the developments.

It´s logical to hate ETA, But let us to defend ou culture(one of the oldest ones) with the independence!

This man is supported by the terrorists, terrorist who killed more than 1000 people in Spain. He is just retarded, so i think it's a nonsense to make an interview about this o_o

Most of the inhabitants from those you call "basque regions" want to be asked about their country´s independence, the self-autodetermination right is recognised by the UN, and it would be the only way out from the conflict. Be clear about the fact that you shouldn´t forget that there have been many casualties in both parts, not only the spanish/french ones. Arnaldo Otegi is the basque part spokesman and nowadays he is in prison because he used the supossed self-expression right he has.

You are a fucking retard and just don´t have an idea of what are you talking about. I´m sure that you are not basque and surely you´ve never been to the basque country. Most of the inhabitants of those you call "basque regions" want to be asked about their country´s independence, the self-autodetermination right is recognised by the UN, and it would be the only way out from the conflict. Violence is not the way to get the freedom. Here in Catalonia we fight in another way. But I have to say that if the government wanted the peace it would do something else of what it's doing right now.Visca Catalunya i Visca la Llibertat!!

Basque Conuntry is the only region in europe where half of the politicians, journalists, and businessman who don't give in to blackmail have to go with bodyguard thanks to Otegi and his terrorist group. Basque people will never be free with people like Otegi threatening all the people who don't do what Otegi says to do. They have recently killed a humble basque former town concillor. His only sin was having been a councillor of a party not approved by ETA, and not having bodyguard.

That's false. Spanish army has the same duty as the other european armies and Basque Country doesn't want its secession from Spain or France. There is only one group who uses the violence aganist the Basque Country, and that's precisely the group of Arnaldo Otegi that has the duty of murdering all the people whith diferent ideology that his. His group threaten and kills systematically all basques with diferent political opinon. That includes more than a half of basque politicians and journalists
