Tony Wheeler, one of the founders of Lonely Planet, visits Colombo, Sri Lanka's capital. Colombo is a divided city from diverse religions, to the old colonial era of Fort, to the flavours of bazaars and markets of Pettah. There's even a place for Duran Duran fans to eat at the famous cafe where "Hungry like the wolf" was filmed. Wherever you visit in Colombo, it's a popular starting or finishing point to your Sri Lankan visit.Produced by Lonely Planet TV

i was in sri lanka last year, and it was way too amazing compared to india. if you are ever planning to go, i suggest Sri Lanka and Maledives, really friendly people, hospitality, nice food and nice chicks. also the night life is really good too, not just in night clubs but it is fun to hang around outside during night but for night clubs just make sure you have your id when you're going in though lol

There is not any problem between Tamils and Sinhalese in Sri lanka.

He no longer runs the lonely planet publications - since bought up by the BBC.It will be interesting to see how it survives without him.Personally I prefer Rough guides.

Anyone know what the name of the cafe that Duran Duran filmed the video for "Hungry like the wolf" is?
