read the wiki article. its pretty good for the non mathematician. E8 was was employed by filling in most of the 248 points of the E8 pattern, using identities (spin, charge, mass, etc) of the 40 known particles and forces. its works kind of like a really complex periodic table of elements, except for particles and their interactions. it will probably help us predict and verify patterns in physics by using the e8 symmetries. it might even lead to a unified theory.

what crap!! - rather than promoting Tesla's Dynamic Theory of Gravity this mathematical crap is ever more pushed around!!! THE AETHER RULEZZZ

As ev1Lsect said, it's just a comprehensible 3D projection. It's by no means a contradiction. Every dimension contain every lower dimension as a subset, and can therefore be projected onto any lower dimension.

You dont know what your talking about. Its a 3D model representing a 248 dimensional figure.

Hey! I just realized a contradiction! Th E8 figure is a 200-odd dimensional figure, yet it claims a 3-D universe.

Yeah me too. It reminds me of IChing or a logic map. The colors make my eyes peaceful.

It is pretty. I like its potential, but alarmed by it at the same time.
