@THEMSASBOYZ I've done my research, i've looked deep enough. All that people ask for is actual PROOF that he exists lol Is that so damn hard to do? Like actual proof, and not saying that "the bible is proof". I've opened my mind sir. Until god shows himself to all of humanity, i'm not going to believe!

@MojaveLV Newton based his belief in god on the knowledge available at the time. If he was alive now then who knows. Just because someone is intelligent in one field doesn't stop them being an idiot in another.

@Beastt17 Just realised I was supposed to reply to MojaveLV. I hate the argument from authority that theists use so readily.

@riverstory87 My comment was not hypocritical. Atheism requires no evidence as it's not a positive claim but a rejection of a claim.

Sorry to break it to you christians and atheists but you are both wrong. The afterlife is ruled by Vashnu the Destroyer and when you die he takes your soul and you are raped by goat demons for all eternity whether you were good in life or not. Bummer I know but hey, at least the goat demons are having a good time.

@murdrlikeoj,-Re: "id still belive in jesus anyways!"-Sure you would. But would you believe in the warrior Jesus of the Essenes, the pedophile Jesus of the Carpocratians, the proto-orthodox Jesus of the Bible, the Gnostic Jesus of the earliest Christians, or one of the many other versions of the Jesus character?

@AAndrews1968,-Re: "Maher needs to debate someone who truly understands The Bible"-It's always funny to hear someone make references to understanding the Bible. Here's the reality; there are currently more than 38,000 different Christian denominations. All of them claim to understand the Bible, but none of them hold the same understanding. That's why it's so funny (and fallacious), to hear any Christian proclaim that anyone else doesn't understand the Bible. They don't understand it.

@UnknownUserName4267,-Re: "Newton based his belief in god on teh knowlede available at the time."-That's a very lucid point and one I thought about but ran short of room. Nearly always, when theists look to famous scientists who held theistic beliefs, they're people who pre-date big-bang, abiogenesis, chaos-theory and evolution. Without a basic knowledge of such subjects, the concept of a god would seem far more plausible.Theists today have no such excuse for their willful ignorance.

I have no problem with religion, as long as they follow the Eleventh Commandment, laid down by the late, great, George Carlin: "Thou shalt keep thy religion to thyself!" |
