It's a very good series, but since Fry's celebrity status sky-rocketed it's hard to watch him as a character actor now. He's always 'that bloke from Q.I.', the guy from twitter..the famous mac user, etc. It seems like a long time ago that he was Jeeves or Oscar Wilde, or all the characters from ABOFAL. He's now like a Cary Grant, a John Wayne..he plays a version himself. Tony Slattery plays a more convincing role.

I once heard that watching Kingdom was like putting on a comfortable pair of slippers. And after finally watching it, I have to agree

@rileyandstella You have my agreement there

@trixwiz7 Yes I know that but now that they are older and more well known it would be fun to see a new show with them together. I know most of their fans would agree.

@rileyandstella Martin did appear in a few episodes of Jeeves and Wooster, but that was 20 years ago.

@rileyandstella Hahah they did one such show together. Some of the Jeeves & Wooster episodes that some kind soul has uploaded to YouTube already. In some such episodes, Jeeves is, of course, played by Stephen Fry. Bertie Wooster is played by Hugh Laurie. And Barmy Fotheringay-Phipps is played by Martin Clunes.Happy hunting, if you haven't already seen them

I love this show as much as I love Doc Martin and wish him and Martin Clunes could do another show together with Hugh Laurie well I can dream can't I?

I bloody love Stephen Fry, part of me still hopes that ITV will bring Kingdom back one day.

@steenje Here Here! I love "Kingdom" but Doc Martin really is top notch. I've been going to Port Issac since I was tiny, so It was just lovely to see it as "Portwen". |
